Insurance Renewals and Cancellations

Quick insurance tip: Be responsible and check your emails and mail for your insurance correspondence.

I get a lot of call from clients saying they didn’t know their insurance, cancelled, renewed, went up, changed, and a plethora of other things.  I also hear from other insurance agents clients saying they want to leave their current agent because they never let them know about the same things I just mentioned in my previous sentence.  Then when I ask the client whether or not they checked their email or mail, some will admit they haven’t and tell me no, some will tell me that they didn’t but believe their agent should have tracked them down by phone even when they didn’t do their part, and others will say yes, with a bit of hesitation in their voices.

The reason, we (agents), send our clients correspondence, is so that you will have this valuable information in writing and so that you can read it and then contact us.  If we had to call every client every time a change was made to a policy, most of us would starve to death because we would have no time leftover to actually “sell” insurance.

If your policy cancels or changes, etc., your assets are at risk.  Therefore, it is in your best interest to check your correspondence about changes to the policy that protects your assets.  Most agents, myself included, love helping people and want our clients to get the most out of their experience with their insurance companies.  But, we still need you to do your part.
